BENAULIM: Verna Veterans downed Chinchinim Veterans 2-0 in the inaugural match of the 2nd All Goa SAI Veterans Football Tournament organised by SAI Veterans Football Association, at Trinity football ground, Benaulim, on Sunday.
Verna scored a goal in each half of the match. The first goal was scored by Andrew Teodosio off a rebound when a shot taken by Vincent Colaco was parried to safety by Chinchinim keeper Sandip Naik. The second goal for Verna was scored by Minguel D’Souza just minutes before final whistle off a counter. Verna Veterans will now face Quepem Veterans on June 13.
