Stephen had a first try at the Siolim goal but goalkeeper Salil Chari collected the shot smartly.
At the other end, Claudio off a corner taken by Francis let fly at the Verna goal which however missed the target narrowly.
St Anthony were awarded a penalty as Rajesh was brought down in the penalty box by two Verna defenders. Claudio however blasted the ball over.
Just before the break, Sherwin sent a beautiful pass to Sangam but the Siolim forward was slow to react. There was no score at half time.
After resumption, there was hectic activity with teams on prowl. Sangam took on a couple of Verna defenders and laid the ball to Sherwin, who on the run scored past Verna goalkeeper Breston.
Verna showed urgency were all over the Siolim defence who however were rock solid. Razorio had the misfortune to see his powerful volley hit the Siolim crossbar on its way out.
Francis secured the equalizer for Verna.
In the tie-breaker for Verna, Savio, Bazilio, Santan, Francisco, Bereston and Manuel scored while for St Anthony, Anthony, Francis, Arnold, Sherwin and Dylan scored.
Verna triumph
PANJIM: Verna Sport Club edged past St Anthony SC, Marna-Siolim 7-6 via the sudden death in 9th London Trophy, organized by Goa Sports Club, at Goa Velha ground, on Friday. The game ended with both the teams scoring a goal each.
