SINQUETIM-NAVELIM: Verna Veterans defeated Campal Veterans 4-0 to move into the next round of the GVFC Veterans football tournament, organised by GVFC, at Sinquetim ground, Navelim, on Monday
Verna’s Jerose Oliveira was the star of the match with his dribbling, good running with ball control assists and shooting power.
Veterans Victor Lobo gave his best and experienced player shooting on the target on several occasions.
Mariano Rebello of Verna Veterans netted the first goal with a placement shot off Jerose Oliveira’s pass in the sixth minute.
It was Francis Andrade or Verna who shot from close range and made it 2-0 in the 27th minute. As the match progressed, in the second half, Victor Lobo’s shot hit the Verna cross bar and went out of play.
Verna netted the third goal through Mariano Rebello in the 58th minute. Jerose Oliveira made it 4-0 for Verna just few minutes left for the final whistle.
