SINQUETIM-NAVELIM: Verna Veterans claimed their favourites tag with a smooth 3-0 win against Candolim Veterans in the above 40 tournament at the Sinquetim ground, Navelim on Thursday.
Verna made their intentions clear from the start with Joerose Oliveira handing them the lead with a cool finish in the very second minute. After at least three tries hitting the framework, it was Francisco Caiado heading in a pinpoint cross from Remedious Barreto to double the score just five minutes into the second half.
Four minutes later, Vincent Barbosa had an easy tap-in following a strong run down the left flank to all but finish the match
On Friday St Anna Veterans will take on Verna Veterans at 4.30 pm.
