NAVELIM:Verna veterans defeated Seraulim veterans 2-0 and moved to the quarter final of 9th Navelim inter village veterans cup, organised by Navelim veterans, at Rosary ground, Navelim, on Saturday.
Seraulim striker Gladstone Vaz connected a ball to Henry Fernandes but his shot failed to pop up into Verna netb in the fourth minute. On the other end, Verna veterans through Remedios Barretto’s long range flied over the cross bar of Seraulim in the tenth minute.
The second half saw both teams trying to score it was in the 58th minute Verna’s Anthony Rodrigues connected a ball to Joseph Cruz who netted the first goal of the match for Verna veterans. Joseph D’Cruz netted his second goal and 2-0 for Verna Veterans in the 51st minute.
Gladstone Vaz’s solo effort shot was saved by the Verna goalkeeper Camilo Baretto in the 64th minute.
