PANJIM: Champion of Champions Vidhyesh Kavlekar of 3FC Gym, Ponda stole the limelight at the 1st All-Goa Bodybuilding Championship organised by Core Fitness Centre in association with the Goa Bodybuilding and Fitness Association, at Jairam Nagar, Dabolim, recently.
The Best Poser Award was bagged by Ratan Singh of UFC Gym, Margao while Infinity Gym, Margao was honoured with the
Team Championship.
The following are the other categories results: 55kg: 1st place Rajat Karapurkar (Infinity Gym, Margao), 2nd place Tousif Kataghee (The Core Fitness Centre, Dabolim), 3rd place Omkar Gosavi (Pitbull , Santa Cruz), 4th Place Puttapa Lamani (The Kings Gym, Margao), 5th Place Mahadev Chari (Strong Arm Fitness, Pernem). 60kg: Pritesh Kaskar (Chowgule Gym, Margao), Ganesh Rajput (Maximum Muscles, Margao), Tushar M. Shet (Pitbull, Santa Cruz ), Akash Mulgaonkar (Cuts & Curves, Mapusa), Hamid Khan (Dattakrupa Fitness , Usgao).
65kg: Dinesh Govekar (The Core Fitness Centre, Dabolim), Abhijit Naik (UFC Gym, Margao), Satish Kunkolkar (Norbert Fitness, Panjim), Laljeet Choudhary (The Kings Gym, Margao), Satya Naik (Muscle Fitness, Corlim). 70 kg: Santosh Jamuni (Infinity Gym, Margao), Ratan Singh (UFC Gym, Margao), Siddesh Naik (Biceps Fitness, Pernem), Raju Teli (Super Universal, Navelim), Navin Naik (Pitbull Santa Cruz). 75kg: Vidhyesh Kavlekar (3FC Gym, Ponda), Ajay Dessai (The Core Fitness Centre, Dabolim), Dipesh Mardolkar (The Core Fitness Centre, Dabolim), Sudarshan Girap (DSYA, Palyem).
75+ kg: Rohit Naik (UFC Gym, Margao), Vishant Gaude (Ahilyabai Ramani, Talaulim), Ashwini Kumar (Ghadi Fitness, Saligao),
Suraj Kunkolkar (Tripod Gym, Taleigao), Ashwesh Shetye (Fitness Time, Vasco).
Altogether, 49 body builders participated. The judges and officials for the championship were Sanjay Patil, Subhash Naik, Shaikh Mirza, Viraj Arabekar, Kushali Virdikar, Ferdinand Noronha, Vishwas Gurav, Mukesh Girap, Satyavan Naik, Ramkrishna Naik, Chandan Naik and Sandesh Gosavi.
Harshita Siddhant Shirodkar, who had recently won silver medal in National School Games in Power Lifting Championship held at Telangana and bronze medal in Sub-Junior Nationals held in Pune, was felicitated by Goa Body Building and Fitness Association President Sanjay Patil, General Secretary Subhash Naik, Vice President Viraj Arabekar, Treasurer Kushali Virdikar, Vishwas Gurav and Shaikh Mirza.
One day prior, new gymnasium, The Core Fitness Centre, owned by Sameer Modak, was inaugurated. The new gym has been designed with modern facilities keeping in mind the futuristic approach towards health and fitness among men and women.
