SOLVA-RAIA: Vidya Vikas Academy and Loyola HS played out an exciting 2-2 draw in Round 5 of the 1st Chowgule Sports Centre U-13 Futsal League, at Chowgule Futsal Court Gogol, on Monday.
VVA lead by a goal to nil at half time thanks to an outrageous 25 metre free-kick and some brilliant goalkeeping from Darren D’Souza.
Loyola looked off colour and VVA took advantage as Warren scored again through a brilliant free-kick early in the second half.
Finally, midway through the second half, Loyola found the missing spark and Andreas Furtado found the net with a left-foot drive that slipped of the goalkeeper’s hand and into the back of the net before Reuben Barbosa’s kick in found the goalkeeper’s finger on its way into the net for the equaliser.
With both teams unable to take their chances the game ended in a stalemate and has opened up the league completely with two rounds to play.
In the second match, Manovikas EMS made short work of St Jude HS Betalbatim, 10-0. Yohann Sousa scored a hat-trick for the winners while Eric Telles, Abner Viegas and Arjun Naik scored a brace each while Dhruva Pai scored one.
