MARGAO: CDJ Ribandar thrashed Fr Agnel YC, Pilar 7-1 in the Ilhas Zone GFA Under-14 2nd Division League match at Pilar, Saturday.
Vignesh Naik scored the first goal for CDJ Ribandar in the 12th minute. Fr. Agnel equalised immediately in the 17th minute through Cristan.
Thereafter, the CDJ Ribandar boys gave a superb display as a team till the end of the match.
Karan Kolkar’s cross was beautifully tapped by Jesley Machado in the 25th minute to give CDJ Ribandar a 2-1 lead. Jesley again scored for CDJ Ribandar in the 30th minute.
CDJ Ribandar scored the fourth goal with a powerful 35-yard unstoppable shot by Karan Kolkar.
In the 45th minute, a cross by Jesley was headed by a nervous Pilar defender in their own goal.
Vignesh again came up good scoring his brace in the 52nd minute. Jesley later completed his hat-trick to ensure that CDJ Ribandar won by a tennis score.
Beepam and Deepraj in the defence gave no chance for the Fr Agnel strikers to test the CDJ Ribandar goal.
The CDJ Ribandar boys coached by Agnelo Miranda are now the strong contenders to win the Ilhas Zone title.
