Vintage 73 SC edge past Compassion

Sesa FA register a well-deserved 3-0 win over Sinquerim SC; Football Club Tuem demolish Cana-Benaulim Sporting Association

MAPUSA/RAIA: Vintage 73 SC managed to edge past Compassion FC by 2-1 margin in the GFA-Vedanta Women’s football league match played at Duler Stadium, here, on Tuesday.

All the goals came in the first session of play. It was Compassion FC that drew first blood in the 37th minute when Swellen Fernandes drove a power packed right footer from outside the penalty box to the far top corner of the Vintage goal 1-0.

Just two minutes later Vintage leveled terms when Remedian Noronha shoulder the ball into the goal off a corner 1-1. 

In added time Vintage stopper back Stessi Cardozo carried the ball almost from the center and entering the 18-yard box drilled a hot blooded shot which brushed Compassion goalkeeper Aniksha Morajkar gloves before entering the goal 2-1.

On crossing over, while Compassion tried their best to find their equalizer while at the other end Vintage eves made some fine runs inside the rival defense but Compassion goalkeeper was quick to react. Player of the match was awarded to Vintage eves Remediana Noronha by Darling McCann.

At Sirsaim ground, Sesa FA registered a well-deserved 3-0 win over Sinquerim SC. Priya Dhatkar, Meloshka Carvalho and Dones Fernandes were the goal scorers.

At Don Bosco Oratory ground, Fatorda, Football Club Tuem demolished Cana-Benaulim Sporting Association. FC Tuem netted five goals through Karen Estrocio while Aniela Barretto, Kulsum Bi Shaikh and Nevilla Colaco scored a goal each.
