Salgaocar enjoyed the lions share of possession but despite the domination they were able to create just a single opportunity when Skipper Mario Soares long range shot was pushed away with great difficulty by diving Camilo Barreto from the Ponda goal.
Post resumption, Ponda came out blazing with Vincent Colaco controlling the midfield and pushing his forwards in dangerous position. Ponda came close twice to open the score but striker Santan Colaco wasted a simple chance in the 52nd minute and immediately Virender Singh rescued his team by stopping a right footer of Ramesh Palkar.
In the tie- breaker Mario Soares, Anthony Pereira, Anthony Music and Rock Carneiro made no mistakes with their conversion while only Vishant Pednekar and Sheikh Niazi scored for Ponda.
