PANJIM: Vishant Gaude, of Fire and Safety Services, Ponda emerged Champion of Champions at the Saligao Shree 2015 all-Goa bodybuilding championship organized by Sharvani Sports & Cultural Club, Saligao in association with Goa Bodybuilding and Fitness Association (GBBFA) under the rules and regulations of IBBFF, at Saligao, on Saturday.
A total of 40 top bodybuilders from Goa participated in the mega event. It was also after almost 29 years that a bodybuilding event took place in Saligao and witnessed an overwhelming response.
The team championship went to Chiranjivee Gym, Ponda while Subham Gauns form SAG Curchorem was declared as most promising bodybuilder.
The best poser award went to Vivek Phaldesai of ABS Fitness Zone, Chinchinim.
The event was conducted by. Shri Dilip Parulekar Hon. Tourism Minister praised the efforts taken by the Club members to promote bodybuilding sports in Saligao.
Tourism Minister Dilip Parulekar was the chief guest and gave away the prizes in the presence of Sanjay Patil, president of GBBFA; Eknath Oraskar, sarpanch of village panchayat Saligao; Anant Kalangutkar, president of Sharvani Club; Shambu Kudnekar, vice-president of Sharvani Club; Viraj Arabekar, treasurer GBBFA; Santosh Birmole and others dignitaries.
The officials were Sanjay Patil, Viraj Arabekar, Santosh Mapsekar, Ravi Dessai, Satya Naik, Tulshidas Shetgaonkar and Machindra Jalmi.
Results: 55kg 1st Shubham Gauns (SAG Curchorem), 2nd Mohamad Shaikh (Power Fit Gym, Mapusa), 3rd Ramdas Tari (Hardcorzz Gym, Marcela), 4th Camilo Ferrao (Kings Gym, Margao) and 5th Kiran Acharya (Kings Gym, Margao).
60kg: 1st Satish Kunkolkar (Maxsan Fitness Hub, Margao), 2nd Christopher Gonsalves (Maximum Muscle, Fatorda), 3rd Laxmikant Bhomkar (Carambolim Gym), 4th Samir Dicholkar (SAG, Mandrem), 5th Dhaniram Thakur (Chiranjivee Gym, Ponda).
65kg: 1st Vivek Phaldesai (ABS Fitness Zone, Chinchinim), 2nd Santosh Jamuni (Royal Gym, Fatorda), 3rd Nadeem Shaikh (Norbert’s Gym, Panjim), 4th Avidh Morajkar (SAG, Campal), 5th Satyam Gaonkar (SAG, Shiroda).
70kg: 1st Raju Teli (Super Universal Gym, Navelim), 2nd Amit Talekar (Chiranjivee Gym, Ponda), 3rd Afraj Shaikh (Cuts and Curves Gym, Mapusa), 4th Tirtharaj Morajkar (Power Fit, Mapusa), 5th Ashvil Vaz (ABS Fitness Zone).
75kg: 1st Vishant Gaude (Fire & Safety Services, Ponda), 2nd Ravi Kumar (Power Fit, Mapusa), 3rd Apran Uskaikar (Norbert’s Gym, Panjim), 4th Vinay Shetty (ABS Fitness Gym), 5th Umesh Shirvoikar (Maxsan Fitness Hub, Margao).
