MAPUSA: Viva North Goa claimed the third spot of the Goa Women’s Football Festival through a resounding 6-0 win over Spectrum Football Academy, at Duler Stadium, here, on Friday.
Spectrum never really matched up to their rivals pace and finishing tactics and were seen trailing by 0-4 at the breather.
Bronya Delgado put Viva North into the lead when on getting hold of the ball from Annicka D’Souza, she finished off through a powerful right footer.
Within a few minutes, Angela Antao (12 years old), the youngest player of the tournament doubled the lead for Viva North while Prethi Shinde took the score tally to 3-0 through a brilliant solo effort.
Minutes before the half time whistle, Erica Sequeira further added to the plight of Spectrum, netting in the ball from close range to make it 4-0.
On resumption of play Viva North got back into the scoring act with Kushboo Saudatkar and Annicka D’Souza netting in a goal each to round off the score to 6-0.
The match was refereed by woman referee Jocyline D’Souza.
Goa Football Association Vice-President (North) Lavino Rebello along with Women Sub-committee Chairperson Juliana Gurjao e Colaco; Rahul Rodrigues, co-founder and MD, Zest Concepts and Geneviva Fernandes of Viva North, handed over the mementos and trophies.
The final which is schedule for May 7 will be played between Goa XI and the Tibet Women’s Football team.
