MERCES: Voilem Bhat blanked Gaunchem Bhat 2-0 to lift the Pogo Boys Cup organised by Pogo Boys Merces, at Our Lady of Merces church ground, Merces, recently.
Gauresh Fatarpekar netted a brace for Voilem Bhat in the 10th and 12th minutes respectively. Gaunchem Bhat tried to get back in the game but their strikers lacked sharpness.
Assis Fernandes, Sarpanch of VP Merces, was the chief guest and gave away the prizes to the winners and runners-up in the presence of Girish Usskaikar, Celia Sequeira, panch VP Merces, Shuchita Amonkar Mhukesh Shirgoankar, ex panchas Yatin Palekar Armstrong Braganza and other dignitaries.
