PANJIM: The WAKO India National Senior & Masters Kickboxing Championship-2021 is going to be held from August 26 to 29, at Multipurpose Indoor Hall, Dayanand Bandodkar Krida Sankool, Peddem, Mapusa.
‘Amateur Sports Kickboxing Association of Goa’ is organising this event sanctioned by ‘WAKO India Kickboxing Federation’. Around 1500 (male and female) players registered from more than 31 states, Union territories and Armed forces e.g. Assam Rifles and Arunachal Police Board etc.
Being, the first WAKO India National event after the recognition by the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, Govt. of India and International Olympic Committee (IOC), this championship is getting tremendous response and support all over India although, WAKO India has organised a series of consecutive national events. The WAKO India National E-championship on musical forms, National Coaches Training course, WAKO India National Referees Diploma course are some of the successful examples conducted on virtual platform during the pandemic COVID-19.
The historic moment of recognition by International Olympic Committee will prove a turning point for this great sport.
“All the safety and social distancing measures will be followed strictly, as WAKO India has released advisory to all the participating teams, coaches, referees, managers and officials”, added by Santosh Kumar Agrawal-President, WAKO India Kickboxing Federation. WAKO India is committed to follow the Covid19 protocol so all the arrangements are done accordingly in advance.
A lot of National & International champions can be seen performing during this championship to be held in both the divisions of fighting (Tatami & Ring events) and Musical forms weapons & bare hand). The real action can be seen in Tatami events – Point Fight, Light Contact & Kick Light and the Ring events- Full Contact, Low Kick and K-1 while on the other hand, the beauty of the Musical forms and creative form, demonstrate the combination of speed, coordination, balance and synchronicity.
This national championship will be considered as the first stage selection for the Asian Indoor Martial Arts Games which will be held in month of March, 2022 at Bangkok-Thailand.
