PANJIM: Purushottam Walawalkar Higher Secondary School, Mapusa emerged Bardez Zone champions in the U-19 Inter-Higher Secondary cricket tournament, organised by Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs.
In the final played at Peddem grounds, Walawalkar defeated Government Higher Secondary, Pernem by 85 runs.
Batting first, Walawalkar HSS scored 213/4 in 20 overs. Om Madgavkar (63), Yohgesh Kauthankar (54) and Ketan Nandrekar (47) top-scored for Walawalkar HSS.
In reply, Government HS were all out for just 128.
For Walawalkar HSS, Yogesh picked four wickets, Om and Chirag accounted for two each while Gauresh picked one.
