PANJIM: Goa’s top Table Tennis player Wesley Do Rosario was awarded the ‘Jyoti Panvelkar Memorial Award 2017’ for his meritorious performances in table tennis.
The annual award for table tennis players, instituted by Panjim Table Tennis Club was presented to the young Margao paddler by Sandip Bhandare, president, Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the presence of R S Kamat, Director General – GCCI, Noel Noronha, president, Panjim TT Club, secretary Selvyn Godinho and others.
Wesley is currently top ranked player in Goa in Junior and men’s category and is the first Goan paddler to have won a gold medal in National Ranking Table Tennis circuit. He finished the year on a high, leading his team Loyola HS to a creditable bronze medal finish at the 11Even Sports inter-school National Table Tennis championships at Madhya Pradesh.
