NAVELIM: Wilred Leisure Curtorim defeated Navelim Villagers Union 2-1 in the GFA U-16 League match, at Rosary ground, Navelim, on Thursday.
Wilred Leisure took the lead in the 35th minute through Preston Gomindes. Richie Hilario doubled the lead for the Curtorim team in the 45th minute. Crossing ends, Mark Gomes pulled a goal back for Navelim. Navelim had the chance to equalise in the 60th minute but Frendon Pires missed a sitter for his team. In the next minute, Curtorim keeper pulled out a brilliant save denying a well taken volley by Navelim player.
Lester missed another glorious chance for his team as he shot wide with only the keeper at his mercy late into the game.
In another match at Ambelim ground, Salcete FC defeated USC Seraulim 17-0.
