PEDDA-VARCA: Wilred Leisure SC, Curtorim pipped Sao Jose de Areal 1-0 to move into the final of the Varca Village Panchyat football tournament, at Varca Sports Club ground, on Thursday.
Sao Jose de Areal missed the first best chance of the match as Alvito Moura’s power-packed shot was brilliantly saved by Johnson Bhagot, keeper of Wilred Leisure. Thereafter, the move of Milagres Fernandes, the goal scoring machine of Wilred Leisure should have netted in the 18th minute but his strike was palmed away to safety by rival keeper Joseph Monteiro.It was Joshley Gomes of Wilred Leisure, who scored the match winner in the 22nd minute. Wilred Leisure SC will meet Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda in the final.
