With just a day to go, Herald speaks to the GFA Vice Presidents’ and executive committee’s candidates about their plans and motive which led them to making inroads into the State football governing body with a common idea of developing football

VICE PRESIDENT NORTH

Angelo (Anju) Albuquerque
(Sporting Clube de Goa)
Agenda: The outgoing vice president was there for two terms and I didn’t see any development take place, so I’m here to do something better for the Goa football.
Priority: Uniting all the members to work towards betterment of Goan football. Together we can make a big difference.
Lavino Rebello
(Anjuna Gymkhana)
Agenda: To develop good relationship with AIFF, SAG and Government to avail the best facilities for the development of football
Priority: To get the house running once again with good administration and getting  sponsors for the betterment of the leagues in Goa.

Anthony Pango
(Snows Football Academy)
Agenda: Have been in football for a long time and would want to share my vast experience with all the members.
Priority: Youth development is the on top of the list followed by structuring leagues and improving the football standards
MORMUGAO ZONE: (2 SEATS) ALREADY ELECTED UNOPPOSED

Agenda: To improve the grassroots programme in Mormugao Taluka and revitalise all the clubs to bring them on the field.
Priority: Organise baby leagues and camp office for Mormugao Taluka.
Adlear D’Cruz

Agenda: To uplift GFA and take it to the next well. GFA has done well but we can take it to next step with my vast experience.
Priority: Streamline the structural and the competition organisation of the game.
ILHAS ZONE (4 SEATS)
Nelson D’Cunha
(Young Boys of Tonca)
Agenda: To change the functioning of GFA and maintaining the grounds. According to Nelson, the grounds are not maintained properly by GFA which affect the players and causes a lot of injuries.
Priority: Availability of ground to the clubs and for proper functioning of leagues
Francisco Araujo
(Merces Sports Club)
Agenda: To take the club experience to GFA.
Priority: Maintaining the grounds and making them available to the clubs and during the leagues. Grounds have been the biggest issue.
Jonathan De Souza
(Dempo Sports Club)
Agenda: To bring in a structural change which will help in better organisation and functioning of the association
Priority: To have a better organised competition and to streamline the leagues with the help of other like-minded members.
Sanjiv Nagvekar
(Aivao Youth Club -Ilhas)
Agenda: To share the vast experience to other members and clubs as have been part of football for more than 4 decades.
Priority: To help in streamlining the leagues and getting funds from the government to the different age group and division league clubs.
Welvin Menezes

Agenda: Working towards upliftment of Goan football by working with the like-minded people.
Priority: To get everyone working together for the betterment of Goan football keeping aside all the personal differences.
BARDEZ ZONE (5 SEATS)

Agenda: Contesting for second time on Clubs’ request. Aim is to work for the betterment of football.
Priority: smooth functioning of all the leagues including the age-group leagues.

Agenda: To work for the development of football in Bicholim taluka and help our clubs and players in all possible manner.
Priority: Motive is to promote grassroots and young talent from our village.
John Fernandes

Agenda:   To organise the leagues and get it back on proper track. To avoid last minute cancellations of matches and to have a GFA representative on the ground..
Priority: To help the people and the clubs in organisation of the games.
Raju Banavlikar

Agenda: Want to finish the incomplete business and want to develop grassroots and youth development.
Priority: To gain support from Government for the betterment of the Goan football
Babli K Mandrake

Agenda: To reduce the huge annual registration Club renewal fees and to keep the status quo on the number of members in Bardez.
Priority: To put up the shelter/ roofing over the North stand at Duler Stadium and to have mini-office at Duler so that the far off clubs can submit and take the players cards.
Gajanan Kerkar

Agenda: To develop the youth we suffered a lot due to the wrong actions of VP Lavino as he was not doing it.
Priority: Grassroots development is my top priority as they are the future of Goa.
SALCETE ZONE (7 SEATS)

Agenda: To organise the leagues in a best way possible and to help our clubs get their grievances resolved at the earliest for the development of football.
Priority: To help in developing in women’s football and set up co-ordination committee for better communications which will help in better running of the leagues and GFA.

Agenda: Simplication of players’ registration and introducing portal based system. Introduction of baby leagues and better co-ordination in the various leagues.
Priority: To improve the administration and specially in regards to the communications which is missing
Alex Noronha
(Margao Sports Club)
Agenda: We can introduce online registration of cards which will help South Goa players and clubs, The competitions should be well planned and well executed which will help us gain more stakeholders and sponsors.
Priority: to introduce co-ordination committee that will ensure smooth functioning of the leagues
Cosme Oliveira (Raia Sporting Club)
Agenda: Want to help the local club and help the children from our village by developing grassroots. Developing the Inter-village is also on cards.
Priority: Youth development lies on the top of the list besides helping the local clubs to enjoy all the benefits.

Agenda: To have a permanent office in Margao which will help the South Goa clubs to register their players and can do other official work with ease. Also to organise matches in South Goa
Priority: Increase the standards of football and give some incentives to local clubs and raise the standards.

Agenda: To start the football from very beginning -introducing baby leagues this will develop future footballers of Goa.
Priority: To computerise and digitise so that all the clubs get to know whats going on in GFA

Agenda: To have a proper selections committee that will select the teams in an unbiased manner and to develop a better functioning of GFA with all members woking united.
Priority: To sort out referee issues as there is a big problem here at GFA with the referees

Agenda: To promote grassroots football for the betterment of Goa’s future and to try and find out a formula to help the club generate funds and sustain.
Priority: To streamline the administrations and try and get financial aid from SAG
