PANJIM: YCO Orda defeated Murrod 4-2 via tie breaker, to advance into next round of Saipem SC Calangute constituency inter-ward football tournament played at Gustavo Monteiro ground, Candolim, on Tuesday.
The match started with complete dominance of Orda, but their strikers could not convert their excellent moves into scoring chances.
Murrod took advantage of the situation and charged with a counter attack, and a penalty was awarded as Orda defender handled the ball inside their penalty area.
Gaurish Shirodkar scored his perfect penalty making it 0-1 for Murrod and giving his team the desired lead.
At half time the score read 1-0 in favour of Murrod.
The equaliser came through Sagar Pawar after a dozen of attacks from Orda. At the end of regulation time, the score was 1-1.
In the resultant tie breaker Eusebio, Frazer and Lyris scored for Orda while Sigmond and Jerry converted from the spot for Murrod.
