PONDA: YMCA Knights, Panjim emerged winners of the Antruz basketball tournament organised by Antruz Art & Sports Academy in collaboration with The Sports Authority of Goa in memory of Rajesh P. Kukalyekar, at Goa College Engineering basketball court, Farmagudi Ponda, recently.
In the final, YMCA Knights defeated Fatorda Fire, Margao by 26/12 points, Abraham scored 8 baskets for the winners.
In the semi-finals, both were nail bitting finishes, YMCA defeated Assailants by 39/37 points and Fatorda Fire defeated Antruz Art and Sports Academy by 45/44.
Sanjiv Gadkar, Director of Tourism, Govt. Of Goa was the chief guest and gave away the prizes to the winners and runners-up in the presence of Krupashankara M.S., Principal of GEC, Sandeep Khandeparkar, Chief Patron AASA & Social Worker,Ponda, Dyaneshwar Haldankar and others.
A total of nine teams took part in the tournament.
