RAIA: Young Blood, Seraulim defeated Active Youth Soccobhatt Per-Seraulim, 4-2, via the tie-breaker to lift the Inter-Seraulim Under-16 Football Cup 2024, played at Panchayat ground, Seraulim.
Active Youth Soccobhatt took the lead in the 11th minute of the first half when Prason Mandol’s powerful well placed shot from a 20 yard distance took the goalkeeper by surprise.
At half time Active Youth lead 1-0.
Young Blood entered the field with renewed ideas and scored at the very start of the second half when Elijah Gomes took a shot from the centre which was misjudged by both the defender as well as the goal keeper to give them the much required equaliser to make it 1-1.
Both teams tried hard to find the winning goal and the ball was seen rolling from one end to the other. Since no more goals were scored after a fast pace attacking game the tie-breaker was imposed wherein Young Blood proved to be better shooters.
In the resultant tie-breaker, Elijah Gomes, Sakshan Shanke and Elijah Gomes scored for Young Blood, Seraulim. Active Youth scored through Istiyat Mohamed and Manglash Bannikappa shot was saved by the keeper.
The following prizes were awarded in the presence of guest Sister Ria, Braz Fernandes, Jose Martins, Jilu Domingos Fernandes, Ruban Da Costa, Pio Vales and Policarpo Cruz.
