PANJIM: Young Boys (Mapuca) Babuties (Gaura, Calangute), CSK Moscow (Nerul) and host Pilerne Boys qualified for the semi-finals of the All Goa Nine-a-side football tournament organised by Pilerne Boys played at the Pilerne Panchayat grounds.
The semi-finals is scheduled for Sunday, March 23rd and will be followed by the finals later the same evening, according Pilerne Boys spokesman.
Earlier in the quarter-finals Young Boys beat Saipem Sports Club 2-0, both the goals coming in the first half, while Babuties, Gaura, Calangute managed to get the better of Nazareth, Panjim, by 4 goals to 3 vie the tie-breaker. The teams were deadlock 1-1 at full time.
In the other quarterfinals played last Sunday, March 16, CSK Moscow outplayed Valankanni Boys, Calangute 2-0. Both the goals were scored one in each half.
Host Pilerne Boys playing on home ground put the game to rest beating 7-11, Candolim, 3-2 via the tie-breaker after the game was locked goalless at full time.
