Come from behind to down Bardez 5-1

MAPUSA: Goan Football club outclassed Bardez Football Club with a thumping 5-1 win in the 
Goa Professional League match played at Duler Stadium, Mapusa, on Monday.
Goan FC have seven points while Bardez FC are yet to open their account.
Bardez FC were leading 1-0 at the breather through ONG Lepcha while Goan FC got all the five goals in the second half through Brian Faria, Lalawmpuia (2), Princeton Rebello and Varun Mathur.
ONG Lepcha who was leading the line for Bardez FC in the absence of striker Dwayne Ticlo due to injury put his team ahead in the 5th minute with a clinical finish off an intelligent pass by Carl D`Souza, 1-0.
Cho Lepcha should have buried the ball into the nets four minute later and consolidated the lead for Bardez FC but made a mess in controlling a pin-point cross into the penalty box by U-20 Richard Cardoz.
Goan FC were slow to get out from their blocks but once they found the rhythm they were denied by the brilliance of Bardez FC keeper Urgen Pinto under the bar who twice stopped Lalawmpuia in finding the nets in the first half.
Goan FC were a transformed unit when they took the field for the second session and levelled terms in the 47th minute through Brian Faria who rose high above the Bardez defenders and headed the ball into the nets, 1-1.
Bardez FC crumbled under the Young Gaurs pressure and letting in two quick goals through Lalawmpuia who got his brace with two ferocious strikes that crashed into the net leaving no chance to keeper Urgen. 3-1.
Goan FC piled on more misery on Bardez FC by finding the net twice in the closing minutes through Princeton Rebello and Varun Mathur to inflate the score tally to 5-1 and end a miserable day for the Bardez FC players.
