NAVELIM: Young Strikers Benaulim defeated SCC Cavelossim 2-1 to move into the quarter-finals of the Gold Silver football trophy organised by Navelim Sporting Club, at Rosary ground, Navelim, on Friday.
Faizal Bepari opened the account for Young Strikers Benaulim in the 20th minute with a powerful left footer while Shawn D’Costa of SCC Cavelossim squandered a goal scoring opportunity in the 23rd minute as he shot into the hands of Constancio, goalkeeper of Benaulim.
Faizel Bepari scored his brace and 2-0 for Benaulim in the 28th minute.
Valerio Rodrigues pulled one goal back for SCC Cavelossim in the 58th minute.
