MAPUSA: YSC Colvale scored a well deserved 3-1win over Guirim YCSC in the GFA’s 3rd Division League match played at Sirsaim ground, on Thursday.
The winners went into halftime with a 3-0 lead.
Anford Fernandes put Colvale in the lead as early in the 5th minute of play while Nikhil Bhandari scored in the 36th and 37th minute of play.
Changing over Guirim managed to pull one back through James Fernandes in the 46th minute of play.
In another match played at the Artificial turf ground, Royston Vaz netted the sole goal of the match as Shiroda YCSC registered a narrow 1-0 win over Our Lady of Gloria SC, The match winner was scored in the 64th minute of the play.
In another match played at Anjuna Gymkhana ground, PVC Parra beat United Club of Nerul 4-1.
Parra scored the first in the 13th minute through Shadab Shaikh but Vedant Sulikar levelled terms at the half hour mark for the losing side. The teams were tied 1-1 at the break.
Crossing over, PVC Parra dominated the match and totally outplayed their opponents.
Shadab Shaikh gave Parra the lead in the 52nd minute to complete his brace while Fredrick D’Souza inflated the lead in the 89th minute to secure full three points as his goal came against the run of play as the opponents were pressing hard to find the equalising goal. Once 3-1 up, Savio Vaz scored the team’s fourth in the injury time.
