PANJIM: Youth Sports Club Colvale knocked out Holiday Sports Club Arpora with a 4-1 win in the Goa Football Association’s Third Division League Bardez Zone play offs match played at Poriat ground, Calangute, on Wednesday.
It was a one sided affair in the first half as the Colvale side totally dominated the play and scored goals in the regular intervals.
Anford Fernandes opened the scoring for Colvale in the 10th minute. YSC Colvale’s Aidan Fernandes and Harsh Parwar managed the midfield and constantly supplied passes and created opportunities for their strikers.
But despite their regular attempts, the Arpora side defence stood tall denying them much room and space in the defence third, thanks to the brilliant defending by Raguvir and Sahid.
After constant raiding, YSC Colvale managed to score their second when Omkar Sawant and Aidan created the move which was capitalised into the second goal by Anford in the 41st minute. Up by two goals, Harsh Pawar scored the third in the first half added time to walk into the break with a three-goal lead.
Crossing over, Holiday SC had their chances but Kalpesh Naik and Waldon missed their chances.
But at the hour mark, Saprem Divkar pulled one goal back for the losing team before Nehal Parsekar scored the fourth for the winning team.
