MARGAO: Zamghal Agxem and Virabhat emerged champions in boys and girls section in the U-14 football festival organized by St. Alex Church, Curtorim, Our lady of Carmel Chapel, Curtorim in association with Curtorim Gymkhana and Wilfred Leisure Sports Club at Curtorim ground
The festival was organized under the supervision of Fr. Mariano Proenca e Goes, parish priest, Fr. Luis Pinto Lourenco asst. parish priest, Fr. Caje Dourado asst. parish priest and chaplain Fr. Edmundo Baretto. In all 16 U-14 teams of boys and 14 girl’s teams participated in this football festival.
The festival was graced by Fr. Mariano, Fr. Luis, Fr. Caje, Fr. Edmundo, M.P. South Goa Francisco Sardinha, MLA of Curtorim constituency, Alexio Reginaldo Lourenco, Shalom Sardinha, Arnaldo Costa, president of Curtorim Gymkhana, Joe Vaz president of Wilred Leisure Sports Club, Robert Fernandes ex international footballer, Joaquim Gunja ex national player, Savio Vaz coach of Wilfred Leisure, Alex Dias sports secretary Curtorim Gymkhana, Joaquim Fernandes general secretary of Curtorim Gymkhana, Alexinho D’Silva vice president of Curtorim Gymkhana and Savio Fernandes asst. sports secretary of Curtorim Gymkhana. John Rodrigues Joint Secretary of Curtorim Gymkhana compered the function.
