VASCO: Zico’s army looked all set for the Atletico de Kolkata challenge as FC Goa team showed good skills and ability amidst hundreds of fans, who came to witness the home team’s training session at Tilak Maidan, Vasco, on Tuesday evening.
Though the team trained rigorously, the players did spare the final minutes clicking snaps and giving autographs to their fans, who had turned out in quite a number.
Speaking to Herald Portuguese midfielder Bruno Pinheiro, stated “It feels great to be a part of the team once again.”
Pinheiro was unavailable for the first leg of semi-final due to suspension after getting red card in the match against Atletico de Kolkata in the league fixture.
When asked about the red card, Pinheiro instantly replied, “I am a fair player and when I received the card, I didn’t even protest to the referee against it.”
“My absence didn’t affect the team as French defender Youness Bengelloun played well at the position,” added Pinheiro.
He further mentioned that the team is doing exceptionally well in the recent outings and were confident of making it to the final.
“We are looking forward for tomorrow’s match and it’s amazing to play at home with huge crowd support,” he said urging the crowd “to keep supporting the team”.
Another versatile FC Goa player Zohib Amiri, who has been instrumental in Zico’s road map to success and already having created fan base for himself with his all round performance for the team, stated “it is always great to play in Goa as we have large fan base here”.
