Vasco PI debunks ‘gang war’ rumours, confirms viral video as road rage clash

VASCO: After a video depicting a violent altercation in Vasco went viral on social media, speculations of a gang war was rife among netizens. However, Vasco PI Kapil Nayak clarified on Wednesday that the video actually captured a case of road rage and not a gang-related confrontation.

Nayak said, “The viral video is a clear-cut road rage case and occurred on Saturday night on the FL Gomes road near Saraswat Bank. A car with three occupants was on the road, and there were two persons on a bike behind them continuously honking to move ahead. Due to the crowded road caused by Narkasur events, the car could not give way. The situation escalated into a verbal argument, leading to a physical fight.” He added that the police intervened, and one police officer was accidentally injured.
