The 16-year-old student of Disha School and a Special Olympics gold medalist in athletics, Sonia Patil, asked Modi what games he enjoyed playing.
Modi wittingly responded saying, “Everybody knows what games politicians play.” He added, “As a child I played kabaddi, swam a bit and did yoga. I had a PT teacher called Parmar Sir. I used to go exercise in his small exercise room.”
The PM also appreciated the teenager’s talent as well as her family for their support. “Whenever a woman shines on the sports field, the mother of the child has a very important contribution. Sonia is a child with special needs. I congratulate her,” he said.
The interaction was via video-conferencing and was coordinated from the PM’s office in New Delhi.
Disha Charitable Trust chairman Anil Counto said the child’s interaction was an inspiration to many children. “She had a lovely interaction with PM Narendra Modi and became an inspiration to many children who watched the programme,” he said, lauding the efforts of the teachers and management for making it happen.
“It is a moment of pride for Goa and especially for the Trust” he added.

Thousands of students from different schools across the State watched the live interaction in their respective institutions.
The 90-minute event at Manekshaw Hall in New Delhi included children from nine states interacting with the PM through video-conferencing besides students present in the hall.
