All India Crafts Fair in city

PANJIM:  The All India Crafts Fair organized by the Industries department of the Kerala government in association with Surabhi-Kerala State Handicrafts Apex Coop Society, Ernakulam is currently underway at Clube Nacional, Panjim. The fair which opened on January 2 will continue till January 11.  Around 103 artisans from across India are participating.  Earlier the fair was inaugurated by Bento Lovena, CCP Deputy Mayor.  The fair will be open to the public from 10am to 8pm, including Sundays and holidays. 10 per cent rebate will be allowed on sales.  Wooden handicrafts, inlay, hand embroidery and lace, art metal, leather goods, clay and terracotta, papier-mâché, banana and palm fibre, kora grass, screw pine, cane and bamboo products, canvas and bamboo, mat paintings, coconut shell, stone carvings, printed textiles, handloom sarees, dress materials, bedsheets, etc are on display.  The objective of the programme is to provide marketing support to the rural handicrafts artisans.
