PANJIM: Nearly five-and-half hours before the order on his bail application was pronounced, the Additional Sessions Court had granted Tejpal, permission to meet his critically-ill mother Shakuntala in a private hospital at Mapusa. However, soon after the order, the patient was discharged from the hospital.
On Thursday, Tejpal had applied for permission that he be allowed to meet his mother who he said was in the last stage of brain tumour and is admitted to ICU. When the matter came up for hearing on Friday morning, Judge Vijaya Pol granted him the permission and directed the jail escort to take him to his mother. He was allowed a meeting of one hour.
However after the discharge of his ailing mother, who was taken to her home in Moira, Tejpal is expected to file a revision petition.
