PANJIM: Yet another complaint has been filed against Deputy Superintendent of Police Sagar Ekoskar and several other police personnel including South Goa SP Abhishek Dhania, for an attempt to falsely implicate and extort the complainant.
The alleged victim Floyd Coutinho has filed a complaint with the State Police Complaints Authority (SPCA) against Ekoskar, Dhania, a PSI and two constables of Goa Police. He has alleged that Ekoskar, and the other police personnel attempted to implicate him in an offence in which he is not an accused, but just a witness.
The complainant has alleged that a lookout notice was issued by the police against him, for financial considerations. The SPCA has been urged to inquire into the matter and proper action has been sought against the SP South for not following the procedure in the said case.
It may be recalled that on September 19, Hanumant Parab of Pissurlem Farmers Association had filed a complaint before the SPCA against Ekoskar who was then the Valpoi Police Inspector, and PSI Prajyot Phadte. Parab reported that he was allegedly assaulted by Ekoskar and Phadte on March 12, as they protested against mining through the Pissurlem village.
