Britain must honour promises

Scottish voters have said a big ‘No’ to independence and decided to stay in the 307-year-old union with England and Wales after a historic referendum. The decision taken by the Scots to remain part of the United Kingdom has been welcomed by the world community. By deciding to keep Scotland as part of UK, the Scots have avoided socio-economic as well as political crisis in the long run. It is now for Britain to do everything possible to keep the alliance together. The pro- independence camp has been defeated with an overwhelming 55% Scots deciding to stay with the UK. The referendum has indeed been a success for democracy as the voice of the people has been heard. The ‘Better Together’ campaign has indeed been a great success.
