CURCHOREM: “I came to Curchorem to interact as you all offered me Curchorem seat to contest” Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar told the party workers at Curchorem on Saturday.
While further addressing them he said that even the people of Panjim had offered him their seat to contest but he would decide only after May 9 in which constituency he would file his nomination. “The by election will be held only after election of new President of the Nation” said Parrikar.
“I am the second person in Goa after first Chief Minister late Bhau Saheb Bandodkar to become the Chief Minister without being a MLA,” said Parrikar. Stating that he left the defence minister ship which is 100 times better than chief ministership only for the welfare of the state and its people.
Speaking further on the proposed Solid Waste Management Facility (SWMF) he said that people wanted mobile phones facilities but opposed mobile towers. “We create garbage but do not want garbage treatment plants (GTP)” . Appreciating GTP at Saligao, he said that minister from other states are coming to study the functioning of the project.
Speaking on the occasion Curchorem MLA Nilesh Cabral said that public transportation system will be improved on priority basis and very soon buses which are running on CNG will be introduced.
