Goa’s young and promising player, Wesley Rosario caused a major upset in the junior category when he beat Goa’s number three Arjun Sood in LESA Carmo Memorial Table Tennis tournament at Loyola school hall, Margao. Wesley scored a well-deserved 2-11, 11-2, 11-8, 13-11 victory.
In the quarter-finals (juniors) Yash Naik beat Tyronne D’Costa 12-10, 7-11, 11-9, 11-8; Krishal Peres recorded an 11-5, 11-9, 11-5 victory over Shreyas Aigal; Tejas Shevde beat Yash Salgaokar 11-2, 11-2, 9-11, 11-5.
Wesley’s good run was stopped by B S Shddharth who won 11-7, 14-12, 7-11, 11-8.
The finals of all categories including Loyola ex-students semi-final will be played tomorrow at 5 p. m.
