SINQUETIM-NAVELIM: Raia SC shot-out Curtorim Gymkhana 4-3 via the tie-breaker to move into the final of the 38th Gold Silver trophy tournament, at Rosary ground, Navelim, on Saturday.
In the third minute, Raia attacking midfielder Eldon Colaco after dribbling past Curtorim defender Myson Fernandes pulled his trigger and shot but to his dismay Curtorim keeper Johnson Bhogot saved the shot.
Eldon shot a curler once again which should have dipped into the Curtorim net but Curtorim’s Savio Fernandes blocked the ball in the tenth minute.
It was Curtorim’s goal-scoring machine Milagres Fernandes who opened the score-line for Curtorim with a placement shot in the 47th minute but the joy was short-lived as Jesylon Barbosa equalised for Raia in the 58th minute.
In the resultant tie-breaker, Raia SC netted through Josylon Barbosa, Socky Cardozo and Jackson Barbosa while Johnson Bhagot and Neville Fernandes scored for Curtorim Gymkhana.
Raia SC will now meet the winners of St Anthony SC, Colva and Cuncolim Union in the final on October 6.
