‘We have done a wonderful job’

CCP Mayor Surendra Furtado speaks to Herald on steps taken by it to clear up the waste generated during IFFI

Herald: Do you feel that the CCP has done a fair job of clearing up the waste generated during IFFI? Or is there something more they could have done?
Furtado: Our solid waste management team has done a wonderful job. Our workers swept the places regularly to ensure cleanliness. They are on the job even now and I guarantee it should be done by Tuesday.
Herald: How will CCP manage the garbage collected during the cleanliness drive?
Furtado: The dry waste will be sent to the Animal Shelter at St Inez while wet waste will be dumped at Patto. All through the IFFI event, the solid waste management team worked hard ensuring garbage is collected to avoid spilling over of dustbins. The Kingfisher Village had outsourced the collection of garbage to a private company and hand it over to CCP.
