PANJIM: St. Anna Sports and Cultural Association, St. Cruz Ilhas Goa will organize its 7th Mini Marathon Race for school children, girls under 3, U-5, 7, 9, 11 and 15 and for boys U-4, 7, 11 and 15 on the eve of Republic Day on January 25, at St. Cruz football ground, at 8 a.m.
The girls winners U-5, 7, 9, 11 and 15 and boys U-4, 7, 11 and 15 will be given cash prizes of Rs 2,000, Rs 1,500 and Rs 1,000 in first, second and third places repectively.
Girls below 3 years will have to cover a stretch of about 50 mts, U-5 distance of 75 mts, U-7 about 150 mts, U-9 about 200mts, U-11 about 250 mts and U-15 about 300mts. Boys U-4 a distance of about 100mts, U-7 150mts, U-11 200mts and U-15 300 mts. St.
Anna Sports and Cultural Association has appeal to the parents to encourage and to motivate theirs wards below 3 years to take part in the race.
The association has been organising this sports events with an objective to encourage youngsters to participate in the sports and develop their skill so that they can excel in sports arena and represent at State and National level competitions.
