The meeting was held to review the works of laying underground electricity cables and the long pending sewerage works in the area. According to the local councillors 95 per cent of digging work is over and the remaining work will be completed after the monsoons.
Lourenco, along with Councillors Sadanand Naik and Babita Naik, reviewed the pending works. Sadanand said, “Most of the digging work is done. What remains is some connections of underground electricity cables to houses and building. This work will be completed in October.”
Lourenco and the councillors requested the Electricity and Sewerage works contractors to tar the dug roads as the monsoon is fast approaching. “I have asked the contractors to get the roads vehicle-ready in three days. They have promised to get it done soon,” Lourenco said.
Roads in the area have been in sorry state for the past six months.
