It may be recalled that the image of the body of a little boy washed ashore had become the face of the migrants who fled the war-torn countries of Syria and Iraq by sea. The photo had sent shock waves across the world.
Now an image of a stunned and blood-stained Syrian boy Omran, which went viral on social media after his home was destroyed by an air strike, has become the face of the war-torn country. Russian has reportedly denied that it’s strike had shot the little boy in the photo.
In the live footage Omran is seen with an open head wound, looking down at his bloody hand before he is transported in an ambulance. The images has shocked the entire world. Omran, his three siblings and parents were fortunate to be rescued after an hour of people digging through the rubble of what was once their home.
The other day CNN anchor Kate Bouldan broke down while reporting about the tragic photo which incidentally serves as a wake-up call to the frequency of strikes that ambush the little boy’s hometown of Aleppo. It is understood that the war-torn Syria’s President Bashar al-Assad has reportedly sought India’s help in the reconstruction of his country’s economy. This request was made to the Indian Minister of State for External Affairs M.J. Akbar in the capital city Damascus.
The Syrian President has also said that as a growing power India has a role in meeting the challenge of terrorism. There was reportedly an agreement between both sides for further upgrading security consultations. Be that as it may, it must be said that there is not age bar for carrying out terror attacks.
An Islamic State (IS) suicide bomber as young as 12 years reportedly attacked an outdoor Kurdish wedding party in Turkey killing at least 51 people and wounding dozens of others. It must be said that it is very difficult, almost impossible, to detect a human bomb if it is going to be as young as just 12 years. The bombs strapped to these children being used as suicide bombers could be detonated by a remote control.
In India too several young people have gone missing without a trace. Some may even have been indoctrinated and joined the dreaded terror group the IS. Terror groups like the IS are trying out ingenious methods to inflict the maximum damage and using little children for carrying out such diabolic acts seems to be the latest modus operandi.
