MARGAO: A 19-year-old worker from a factory at the Cuncolim industrial estate was killed after being struck on the head by an iron rod. According to the Cuncolim police, the injured worker was immediately taken to the South Goa District Hospital in Margao, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The police investigation revealed that Kamlesh Kumar, a native of Bihar, was injured while performing his duties at Karthik Induction Ltd. Sources said he was working in the coal feeding section when he used an iron rod to push the stacked coal into the feeder. The iron rod made contact with a wheel spinning at high speed inside the feeder, resulting in the rod rebounding and striking Kamlesh on the head.
