MARGAO: South Goa MP Francisco Sardinha has endorsed the views of AICC President Sonia Gandhi asking for facilitating the travel of migrants to their native places for free and also taking care of the ones who stay back.

Sardinha said the government should give free travel to migrants and take care of their food and medicines till they reach their native places.
“These migrants have suffered enough walking hundreds of kms to their houses with their children and their meagre belongings through the scorching sun. Though the lockdown was a necessity, it could have been better handled in stage 1 and 2. In the third stage, they should have had better control on the essential commodities and necessary items” said Sardinha.
