PONDA: The Betki-Khandola Panchayat held a drone demonstration in agricultural activities to encourage farmers to make drone technology in their occupation.
The demonstration showed how drones can have multipurpose use in agricultural activities in the panchayat area. The programme was held in coordination with the panchayat, BDO and Agriculture Department.

BDO Ashwin Desai said this demonstration was held to encourage use of drone technology in spray of pesticides, fertilisers as well as control of disease which will save their time and labour cost and within a short period the large area would be covered. Within seven minutes drone cover one acre of land area. Even farmers clubs can buy it or hire out drones or obtain it through subsidy through Krishi Vigyan Kendra or other government schemes for agriculture use, Desai informed.
Ponda Block Development Officer (BDO) Ashwin Desai, Local sarpanch Vishant Naik, panchayat members, agriculture official Vipal Naik and farmers were present.
