MARGAO: The Margao Municipal Technical section has come under scanner with the complainant in the MMC Chairperson Gonzaco Rebello’s illegal structures case demanding action against the engineers for trying to shield the civic chief.
In his complaint to the Urban Development Minister, Francis D’Souza, with a copy to the Director of Municipal Administration, complainant Savio Dias has called for an inquiry into the actions by the technical section in the case.
He alleged that the technical head instead of issuing order of demolition for the front structure which comes under the preview of the Section 174 of the Goa Municipalities Act, 1968 has purposely applied Section 184 of the Goa Municipalities Act, 1968 to both the structures to delay the demolition process and to help the chairperson escape from disqualification under the Goa Municipalities Act, 1968.
