PANJIM: All Goa Para Teachers Association in a special meeting on Thursday decided not to accept the transfer orders from the government authorities until the meeting scheduled with Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar takes place.
Speaking to Herald, All Goa Para Teachers Association, President, Smita Desai said, “At a special meeting today it was decided that the para teachers would not accept the transfers order and simultaneously not conduct classes until the meeting with the Chief Minister is concluded. Approximately around 100 odd teachers would not be conducting classes.”
“Chief Minister has given us an appointment for a meeting on November 19 and also directed Directorate of Education to sort out the issue of unjust transfers in a special meeting tomorrow (Friday) along with the director and OSD,” Desai said.
She added, “For 10 years we have been working as much as other teachers but have not been absorbed on permanent basis. This is unfair. We have been working for 10 years and there are teachers who have come after us and who have been given permanent jobs.”
She further said that the BJP had promised to regularise the jobs, and promised this in the manifesto.
