PANJIM: Regular staff of Goa Meat Complex have not been paid since October 2017, Goa Government Employees Association (GGEA) stated and has taken up the matter with Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, who is also the Finance Minister. GGAE has also written to the Minister for Animal Husbandry seeking his intervention.
The association said that the grant-in-aid salary bill, along with expenses amounting to Rs 1 crore, submitted to the Director of Accounts on December 31, 2017, is pending in the cash section of the Directorate of Accounts because of a minor clarification required by Finance Department from the meat complex managing director. GGEA informed the Chief Minister that managing director was requested to sort the issue by visiting Finance Department but he didn’t do that as yet, resulting in non-payment of salaries for three months.
