Candolim move into finals

Candolim Sports Club prevailed over Adarsh Yuvak Sangh 3-2 via the tie-breaker after both the teams were involved in a 1-all draw to move into the semi-finals of 17th Nerul Panchayat Cup inter-village football tournament organized by Nerul Sports Club at Nerul grounds on Wednesday.
After a goalless first half, Candolim forged ahead in the 36th minute through Francisco Rebello, who tapped the ball in off a long throw by Pedro Gonsalves. Adarsh fought back and equalised through Rohidas Malogi’s penalty as Shankar was brought down by Kashinath in the danger zone.
Joelit Simoes and Patrick Gonsalves converted for Candolim while Francis Fernandes was on target for Adarsh in the penalty kicks.
