Reportedly, on Wednesday, the PMC held an urgent meeting on the instruction of South Goa Planning and Development Authority (SGPDA) for modifications and suggestions in Draft Outline Development Plan for Ponda, wherein the PMC has suggested 15-metre road from Zareshwar-Ponda bus stand alongside the main nullah to bypass National Highway at Kapileshwarim (Farmagudi-Dhavlim-Margao road).

This road, the PMC has proposed in town to decongest the traffic congestion and smooth flow of traffic which will pass from exactly behind the government building at Tisk, Ponda.

Kavlem Sarpanch Rajesh Kavlekar reacting to proposed road in Draft ODP said, “The new proposed road would come on the agricultural land and even if though new road is proposed the Kavlem locals would insist to keep open already existing parallel road from Khadpaband-Ponda to Kavlem village which is shown dead end at Khadpaband in Ponda ODP.”
